The Florida football train that’s been rolling along this season just hit a sizable bump in the road. According to Mike Huguenin of GridironNow.com, redshirt freshman quarterback Will Grier, who has been instrumental in Florida’s 6-0 start, will be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Florida will announce at 2:30 p.m. Monday that redshirt freshman quarterback Will Grier will be suspended for the rest of the season.

A source told gridironnow.com that Grier’s suspension is for a violation of NCAA rules.

Grier entered the season in a battle with sophomore Treon Harris for the starting quarterback position, but separated himself over the first few games. Harris was suspended for the Tennessee game, which turned out to be Grier’s coming out party.

According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Grier tested positive for a banned substance.

Harris will now be called upon to keep Florida moving in a positive direction. Up first is undefeated No. 6 LSU.

According to Jim McElwain, Grier has been suspended for taking an over the counter supplement that contained something banned by the NCAA, and there will be an appeal from the university regarding the length of the suspension.
