As Mike Leach enters his fourth year with the program, the locals are getting antsy, which is putting pressure on the entire staff to turn things around. Portland State has long been the Big Sky’s version of Wazzu, long on passing yards, yet short on victories.

The Vikings are actually showing signs of potential on defense for a change. No, they’re not stout by any means, but Xavier Coleman and Aaron Sibley bring quality and experience to the secondary. And if the Washington State passing game hiccups, the wheels could come off the entire offense.

Leach likes the potential of his offense entering 2015. QB Luke Falk has been sharp this offseason, and he has plenty of experience from 2014. Plus, the Cougars are loaded at receiver and the Joe Dahl-led line welcomes all five of last season’s starters.
