Non-Conference Games Rutgers, Idaho, Portland State
Games vs. the South at Arizona, at Utah, USC, Arizona State
– As long as the opener against Rutgers at home isn’t a problem, the Huskies should be 3-0 with ease with Idaho and Portland State to follow. With a trip to Arizona to follow to start the Pac-12 season, UW should be ready after their scrimmages.
– Four of the first five games and five of the first seven are at home. One of the games is against Stanford, followed up by the road date at Oregon – those two will make or break U-Dub’s Pac-12 season.
– Not playing UCLA is a big positive, but having to go to Utah stinks and having to host USC and Arizona State in the second half of the season isn’t all that awful – those are big road trips for the Trojans and Sun Devils.
– Throw in the week off on October 15th, and Washington has three road games in four with trips to Oregon, Utah and Cal. Winning two of those might be a must with USC to follow.
– WATCH OUT FOR … Apple Cup payback. The Huskies destroyed Washington State in last year’s rivalry game, and this year they’ll have to get through the game on the road six days after facing Arizona State. It’s the regular season finale.
