    1. It wasn’t pretty early on, but the Syracuse passing game kicked in with Eric Dungey – filling in for an injured Terrel Hunt – for an 89-yard third quarter score. Before that, Wake Forest got up 17-13 at the half helped by a John Wolford 40-yard touchdown pass to K.J. Brent to go along with a six-yard scoring run. However …

    2. Wolford also got picked for a score by Donnie Simmons, who took it 41 yards in the second quarter.

    3. The Orange scored 17 unanswered points in the second half. Dungey’s second touchdown pass was a 53-yard play to Steve Ishmael. Cole Murphy hit three field goals on the day.

    Syracuse

    – Eric Dungey completed 8-of-13 passes for 221 yards and two scores, and ran 12 times for 36 yards

    – Syracuse averaged 27.6 yards per catch. Brisly Estime caught two passes for 98 yards and a score

    – Syracuse was 1-of-9 on third down conversions

    Wake Forest

    – John Wolford completed 30-of-45 passes for 373 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions

    – Tyler Bell ran 12 times for 39 yards. Wake Forest ran 32 times for 46 yards and a score

    – Wake Forest outgained Syracuse 419 yards to 370, but was -3 in turnover margin
