The No. 7 Virginia Cavaliers will travel to Durham, N.C. on Saturday to battle the Duke Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Cavaliers (20-4, 9-3 ACC) are on a roll having won seven straight games, including a 67-49 beat down of Virginia Tech last time out. Virginia took a 12-point lead into the half and was able to keep up the defensive intensity to keep the Hokies at arm’s length the rest of the way. The Hoos held their in-state rival to a mere 28.6 percent from downtown and 35.6 percent overall. Virginia also forced 15 Virginia Tech turnovers and blocked eight shots on the night. Anthony Gill led the way for the Cavaliers, as he scored a game-high 16 points.

The Blue Devils (18-6, 7-4 ACC) responded to their unranked status by reeling off three straight wins, their last being a 72-65 win over Louisville at home Monday night. The Cardinals erased a 15-point deficit in the second half and tied the score at 60 with a little over three minutes to play. However,  free throws from Marshall Plumee, Brandon Ingram, Matt Jones and Luke Kennard made the difference and gave Duke the win. The Blue Devils were the better team from long range (42.9 percent) and from the foul line (75 percent), which proved to be keys late in the second half. Grayson Allen led all scorers with 19 points, and Brandon Ingram recorded his sixth double-double of the season (18 points, 10 rebounds).

The Cavaliers and Blue Devils will meet for the 168th time on Saturday as Duke has a commanding 117-50 lead in the series. Virginia is looking to snap a 16-game losing streak at Cameron Indoor.

    Prediction

Duke has appeared to have gotten its groove back, but is it enough to extend its home winning streak over Virginia to 17 games? No dice. The Cavaliers are too tenacious defensively for a limited Duke offense to overcome. If threes aren’t falling for Grayson Allen, Brandon Ingram and Luke Kennard, it’s going to be a long day for the Blue Devils. Bank on Malcolm Brogdan and London Perrantes to have the Hoos offense humming just enough to get the job done. Virginia gets its first win at Cameron Indoor since 1995.
