    Final Score: Virginia Tech 51, Purdue 24

    1. Virginia Tech kept the scoring going all game long with Brandon Motley throwing two touchdown passes to Bucky Hodges, while the big plays came from a variety of sources. With the score tied at 17, the Hokies scored 27 straight points.

    2. Purdue got up 14-10 highlighted by a 90-yard Danny Ezechukwu fumble return for a score, but the Hokies took over from there with Hodges first touchdown kicking it off.

    3. Chuck Clark scoring on a 20-yard fumble return for a score and Anthony Shegog 15-yard returned a blocked punt for a touchdown as the Hokies pulled away.

    Virginia Tech

    – Brenden Motley completed 15-of-23 passes for 220 yards and two scores, and ran 15 times for 24 yards and a score.

    – Isaiah Ford caught six passes for 128 yards.

    – The Hokies were penalized 11 times for 87 yards.


    – Austin Appleby completed 9-of-28 passes for 110 yards and two interceptions, and ran for 11 yards and a score.

    – Markell Jones ran six times for 90 yards and a score.

    – Purdue came up with just nine first downs, were penalized ten times, and turned it over three times.
