Prediction

Villanova … Villanova will happen. The Wildcats defense is legitimate. It’ll focus on keeping Allen from getting clean looks at the rim and force someone else to step up for Stanford, but no one will have that stellar of a game for the Cardinal. Villanova will get a solid game from Hart, who will lead the game in scoring and do his part on the boards as well.

Game Notes

This is the second time in three years the Wildcats have faced a Pac 12 foe on Thanksgiving. Villanova downed USC94-79 in 2013 in the Bahamas.
Villanova’s opponents are connecting on .331 of their field goal
attempts and .279 of their attempts from outside the 3-point arc. Foes are
averaging just 56.0 ppg against VU through four outings.
The NIT Season Tip-Off tournament is the Cardinal’s fourth visit in three years to the Barclays
Center. Thursday and Friday will be Stanford’s seventh and eighth games in the arena since the
building opened on Sept. 12, 2012. Marcus Allen has played in each of the previous six games.
Stanford and Villanova will meet for just the second time on the hardwood on Thursday. The Wildcats
won the only previous matchup, 96-76, on Dec. 23, 1970 in California.
Stanford is 12-16 against current members of the BIG EAST Conference. The Cardinal will play another BIG
EAST foe later this season when it faces DePaul at Maples Pavilion on Dec. 15.
