The Minnesota Vikings are facing more bad injury news: rookie running back Dalvin Cook has been initially diagnosed with a full ACL tear.

Cook fumbled and dropped to the turf with a non-contact injury in the third quarter of the Vikings’ 14-7 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He limped to the locker room and later left in crutches with his knee in a brace.

Cook notched the team’s only touchdown of the game and finished with 66 rushing yards and eight receiving yards. He currently leads the team in rushing this season with 354 yards and has also tallied an additional 90 yards through the air.

Head coach Mike Zimmer noted after the game that he is “concerned” about Cook’s knee, but he will know more after an MRI on Monday.

While neither player is as explosive or reliable as Cook, expect to see Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon taking on more of the workload.
