The vertical jump is one of the most analyzed tests in the NFL Combine. Here are 10 players to watch compete in the drill this year.
How high can you jump? Whatever number you dribble out, it won’t match what the phenomenal athletes partaking in the NFL Combine are capable of putting up.
We’re talking about guys who could dunk a basketball with ease.
It may not be as glamorous a drill as the 40-yard dash, but the vertical jump can paint images of wide receivers catapulting themselves over defensive backs in the corner of the end zone to reel in the touchdown.
Flashes occur of linebackers dropping back in zone coverage, reading the quarterback’s eyes and soaring to pick off a pass gliding through the air.
The vertical jump isn’t the most important test, but it does say a lot about the explosiveness contained in each player’s legs, and we’ve seen some pretty gifted athletes reach for the stars.
