Four-star cornerback Verone McKinley III revealed his top nine schools on Friday night, focusing on programs from across the Power Five.

The recruiting trail waits for no one. As National Signing Day wrapped up the 2017 cycle on Wednesday, the 2018 class is already heating up.

On Friday night, 4-star prospect Verone McKinley III revealed his top nine schools with each one of the Power Five represented. In alphabetical order, McKinley is focusing on Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Texas A&M and UCLA.

McKinley, who’s from Carrollton, Texas, is the No. 27-ranked cornerback in the country and the No. 237 overall player.

He released a statement regarding his decision to narrow down his recruitment.

“I am so thankful to God for blessing me with many scholarship opportunities. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the schools that have offered me an opportunity to play a sport I love and further my education. As I progress through this unbelievable journey, I have decided to focus my attention on the following schools.”

At 5-foot-10, 170 lbs McKinley is a total ballhawk. He plays the position with excellent awareness with where the quarterback is looking to go with the football. He’ll take chances every now and then by breaking off his assignment to make a play on the ball, but when he guess correctly, he’s a pick-six candidate.

McKinley does a great job of getting his head around to find the ball when its in the air and putting himself between it and the wide receiver in order to make a play.
