March 15, 2016After a triage of 30-win seasons, the Wichita State Shockers had a “down” year in 2015-16. After notching a ho-hum 24-8 record, they now find themselves up against Vanderbilt in one of the First Four play-in games for the NCAA Tournament.
As for the Commodores, it’s the same story, different season. Vanderbilt is a powerhouse at home, riding a near-perfect record at Memorial Gymnasium. However, when it comes to road and neutral games, they’re middling at best. Can they pull things together against the Shockers? Campus Insiders’ experts are split on who will prevail to face Arizona in the NCAA Tournament’s first round.
The Commodores can’t really score, but they can play defense. Wichita State will do it better in the play-in game. A real man would pick the Shockers to beat Arizona after beating Vandy and end up in the Sweet 16. I am not a real man.
The Commodores stumble into the First Four, survive against Wichita State and then finally fall to Arizona.
