The Roadrunners are the better defensive team, especially coming on the heels of a timely week off. Rookie DT Kevin Strong Jr. headlines a front seven that’s helped hold two of the last three opponents to less than 100 yards rushing. North Texas, meanwhile, ranks near the bottom of the FBS in scoring D and yards per play allowed.
The Mean Green could have an answer for the UTSA front wall, namely RB Jeffrey Wilson, who’d have an all-star ceiling with a better supporting cast. He spearheaded a 229-yard Mean Green ground effort Saturday against a very good Marshall defense.
Whether or not QB Blake Bogenschutz returns from a concussion, UTSA will have some success through the air on a hideous North Texas secondary. Plus, the Roadrunner D will stack the box to contain Wilson and force QB DaMarcus Smith to use his arm.
Prediction: UTSA 28, North Texas 17, Line: UTSA -9.5, o/u: No line
Must See Rating: 5: Bridge of Spies – 1: Rock The Kasbah … 1
