Why Utah State Will Win

The Aggie defense is playing at a high level, while Kent Myers has been terrific under center. The Aggies have rolled over the last two weeks, and while it’s one thing to rip up Fresno State, it’s another to stop Boise State for 34 rushing yards on 30 carries. The Aggie D will hold down the San Diego State ground attack, and that could be it – the Aztecs don’t have a passing attack.

Why San Diego State Will Win

The Aztecs can play a little bit of run defense, too. How good as the San Diego State run D been? No one has gone for more than 72 yards since South Alabama cranked up 241 over a month ago. Utah State can throw a little bit, but it needs to run to control the ball and control the clock. The offense might not put up big numbers, but the defense can make up for it.

What’s Going To Happen?

Now that San Diego State is at home after being on the road for three of the last four games, it’s about to come up with a gem. Utah State might be rolling, and the Aztec run defense will come up with a good enough day to pull off the upset and make a huge statement in the Mountain West race.
