Updated college football national title odds for 2017 following National Signing Day have Alabama as the clubhouse favorite followed closely by USC.
February 7, 2017Updated college football national title odds for 2017 following National Signing Day.
With National Signing Day in the rearview mirror, there’s no better time to update the college football title odds for the 2017 season.
Off the top, to little surprise, Alabama is the favorite to win the title. The national runners-up return a bevy of talent on both sides of the ball, and again have enough of a weighted schedule to carry them in the case of a misstep or two.
After Alabama in the updated national title odds sits USC. Given the way they ended 2016-17, the Trojans figured to be darlings all through the offseason. USC’s strong close on National Signing Day only enhanced that notion. Clay Helton reeled in a bunch of 5-star talent to compliment budding superstar quarterback Sam Darnold. On raw potential alone, the Trojans deserve such good odds.
Down-ballot for some sleepers, Auburn is an intriguing pick at 20/1. The Tigers return a strong defense, featured back Kam Pettway, and they now have a competent quarterback. Auburn rival Georgia is also intriguing at 30/1, considering the Dawgs return nearly everyone of importance and play in a weak SEC East. Oklahoma State at 40/1 is nice, too. With Mason Rudolph and James Washington coming back, the offense will be able to carry its weight in any shootout.
As for the reigning champions, Clemson comes in at 15/1 alongside the likes of LSU and Louisville. Below is a full look at the updated college football national title odds.
