Even with Boise State up next, it has a real, live chance to start thinking about a good second half if it can get by a Fresno State (1-5) team that just can’t seem to get anything going. Why UNLV Will Win

Where did the Fresno State offense go? The O line has been a disaster, doing absolutely nothing for a running game that can’t find any room to move with just 182 yards in the last three weeks. The Bulldog passing attack isn’t picking up the slack with way too many interceptions and way too many misfires putting more and more pressure on the struggling defense. UNLV’s defense is hardly a rock, but as a team it’s been great at turnover margin – the Rebels aren’t going to beat themselves, while the Bulldogs might.

Why Fresno State Will Win

So what is Fresno State doing right lately? It’s having a nightmare of a time in all phases except one, penalties. The Bulldogs are turning it over too often, the offense can’t seem to generate any consistent drives, and the defense isn’t stopping anyone, but at least they’re not getting flagged. They’re only getting hit with four penalties a game, and while that might not seem like a big deal, this team can’t lose any ground at this point.

What’s Going To Happen?

UNLV is starting to find itself offensively with a nice balance. Fresno State is far, far better than it’s shown so far, but it can’t move the ball a lick, going 0-of-12 on third downs against San Diego State and 3-of-14 against Utah State. UNLV isn’t doing anything at a high level, but it’ll run just enough to get out with a win.
