The UNC Wilmington Seahawks have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Team: UNC Wilmington Seahawks

    Colonial Athletic Association

    Head coach:
    Kevin Keatts

    How they got here:
    Won conference tournament

    The Good

The Seahawks needed overtime to punch their ticket to the Big Dance in the CAA Tournament, but this is a group that is experienced and won’t back away from the challenge. Guard Chris Flemmings is the go-to guy for the Seahawks, a slasher who can finish at the rim, knock down the three and can get to the line. UNC Wilmington has good depth and can put points on the board in a hurry.

    The Bad

Outside shooting and a lack of size are both weaknesses for the Seahawks, and the team can be sloppy with the ball at times. This is also a team that hasn’t been tested – Georgetown is the only “name” school they played during the non-conference season – which means adjusting to a higher level of play in the NCAA Tournament will be critical.

UNC Wilmington has won a lot of games this season, but it has done so without playing much of anybody. That’s going to be a problem in the NCAA Tournament, and this will likely be a team that doesn’t stick around for long at the Dance.
