In the CBE Classic championship, the North Carolina Tar Heels (4-1) will take on the Kansas State Wildcats (4-0) in the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
The Tar Heels were No. 1 in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll, but that didn’t last long after they lost to Northern Iowa on Saturday, 71-67. UNC bounced back with an 80-69 win against Northwestern with help from Justin Jackson’s 21 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson is averaging 13.2 points per game, but it’s Kennedy Meeks who is leading the team with 14.2 points per game.
If there was going to be an undefeated team in this matchup, nobody would have guess that’d be Kansas State a couple of weeks ago. The Wildcats have won by an average of 20.5 points and have held their opponents to just 59.5 points per game. Justin Edwards leads the team with 16 points per game on 55.3 percent shooting.
Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the UNC vs. Kansas State online live stream, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.
Even without Marcus Paige, it’s hard to pick against the Tar Heels in this one. Kansas State only shoots 26.9 percent from three while UNC is knocking down 32.6 percent of its triples. Meeks wil continue to stuff his stat line. He and Brice Johnson will control the boards, and Jackson will provide some additional scoring that the Wildcats won’t be able to match.
