January 2, 2017UGA football recruiting update as of January 2, 2017. Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are tearing up the recruiting trail.
He is not human. He is a college football recruiting machine sent from the future to dominate the recruiting trail and catapult the Bulldogs toward the top of the class rankings.
If that is Kirby Smart’s plan, it’s going swimmingly so far. On Monday morning, Georgia flipped 4-star inside linebacker Monty Rice from the LSU Tigers. And that was simply the latest domino to fall for UGA.
On Sunday, at the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game, the Bulldogs beat out Alabama for the commitment of 5-star athlete DeAngelo Gibbs. A few hours later, Georgia stuck it to rival Florida when it beat out the Gators for 4-star athlete Tray Bishop, who recently decommitted from Auburn.
UGA climbed up from No. 3 to No. 2 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings, passing Michigan in the process. The Bulldogs are now only 126 recruiting points behind No. 1 Alabama.

Four-star athlete Tray Bishop had a great time with some other UGA commits at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl practice.
