UCLA will reportedly hire Michigan passing game coordinator Jedd Fisch as the Bruins’ next offensive coordinator.

After leading the way for Michigan’s finish as the No. 86 passing offense (212 ypg) in the country, Jedd Fisch is on the move.

UCLA will hire Fisch as its next offensive coordinator, according to Bruce Feldman. Fisch spent the past two seasons as the Wolverines’ passing game coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach but will now replace Kennedy Polamalu, whose contract was not renewed following the 2016 season.

Prior to his stop in Ann Arbor, Fisch served as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2013-14) and the Miami Hurricanes (2011-12). From 2001 to 2010, Fisch bounced around as an assistant with the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks.

The Bruins’ passing game ranked No. 19 in the nation (295.6 ypg) despite a shoulder injury to star quarterback Josh Rosen, who was replaced by redshirt senior Mike Fafaul.

The two quarterbacks combined for 22 touchdowns, 16 interceptions and 3,517 yards while completing 56 percent of their passes.

Under Polamalu, UCLA finished at No. 91 in total offense (379.8 ypg) and No. 96 in scoring offense (24.9 ppg).

Rosen, who will have all offseason to recover from his injury, will seemingly have one year to learn under Fisch, as the rising junior is expected to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft following the 2017 college football season.

While Fisch’s background is in the air attack, he’ll also be tasked with improving the ground game as well. The Bruins ranked No. 127 in rushing offense (84.24 ypg) despite having a backfield filled with former blue-chip recruits: (5-star) Soso Jamabo, (4-star) Nate Starks and (3-star) Bolu Olorunfunmi.
