Offensive tackle Tyler Catalina chose to transfer to Georgia instead of rivals Auburn and Florida.
February 15, 2016Kirby Smart isn’t going to need to buy an alarm for his home because the new Georgia head football coach has filled his yard with some big “dawgs.”
Pun very much intended.
With only a few months under his belt in his first head coaching job, Smart landed the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation for the Bulldogs in the 2016 recruiting cycle. Names like Jacob Eason, Isaac Nauta and Mecole Hardman Jr. will be making plays in red and black very soon.
But Athens, Ga. can welcome a new name to the Georgia football roster: offensive tackle Tyler Catalina, formerly of the Rhode Island Rams. The fifth-year graduate transfer chose Georgia over rival Florida and Auburn on Monday in a tweet.
The 5-star-rated Hardman immediately took to Twitter to welcome his new teammate.

Beware, SEC, because Smart smells blood, and he’s looking to take college football’s toughest conference by storm.
