Q: Your Heisman ballot top 3.

    3. QB Deshaun Watson

Watson isn’t just the quarterback of the top-ranked Tigers, college football’s last remaining unbeaten team. He’s one of the central reasons, certainly on offense, why Clemson has yet to lose a game in 2015. Watson was outstanding in Saturday’s ACC title win over Carolina, but the overall schedule was just okay, and it’s not as if he lit up the defensive backfields of Florida State and Notre Dame.

    2. RB Derrick Henry, Alabama

Absolutely no beef if, as expected, Henry becomes the second Tide running back in the last seven years to win the Heisman. He practically carried the Bama offense on his pads this year, closing out games like a flamethrower out of the bullpen. And in the biggest games on the schedule, like LSU and Florida in Saturday’s SEC championship game, he always delivered.

    1. RB Christian McCaffrey, Stanford

For me, it’s extremely close between Henry and McCaffrey. A toss-up. And in such cases, I tend to favor the guy who does more things well. McCaffrey’s versatility, on full display in Santa Clara this past weekend, sort of embodies the spirit of this award. I’ve always looked at the Heisman winner as a borderline renaissance athlete, and that guy in 2015 has been Stanford’s do-everything sophomore playmaker.
