March 16, 2017Four-star athlete Trey Lowe committed to play for the Washington Huskies, late Wednesday afternoon.
While the ides of March caught up with the Washington Huskies basketball program on Wednesday, March 15 was much kinder to Chris Petersen’s football team. Late Wednesday afternoon, 4-star athlete Trey Lowe committed to the Huskies via Twitter.
“I want to thank God first and foremost for this! BLESSED [sic] to be committed to the University of Washington … Go Dawgs!” he wrote.
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Lowe is the nation’s No. 14 wideout for the 2018 class. Aside from Washington, Lowe held offers from the likes of Arizona, Boise State and home-state schools Oregon State and Oregon – the latter of whom has offensive coordinator Mario Cristobal heading the recruitment process.
Lowe is the fourth player committed to the Huskies for the 2018 cycle, joining 4-star quarterback Jacob Sirmon, 4-star wideout Austin Osborne and 3-star linebacker Jack Sirmon. Washington currently sits at No. 11 in the 2018 team recruiting rankings.
At 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, Lowe doesn’t necessarily have the size to be an every-down back. He projects more as a slot receiver or scatback coordinators will want to get into space. That said, he’s a home run threat any time he can find a crease and sniff a little fresh air.
