Trevor Lawrence’s recruiting update shows three schools from the ACC and SEC reportedly in the lead for the five-star quarterback’s services.

Cartersville, Ga. prospect Trevor Lawrence has plenty of time until he has to sign a letter of intent, but the 2018 five-star quarterback is looking to bring his recruitment to a close sooner rather than later.

According to Scout’s Chad Simmons, Lawrence plans to have a decision before the start of fall ball.

As for the schools in the running, there are three that currently stand out, all of which are relatively close to home – Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee.

Lawrence unofficially visited the Tigers as recently as March 5, and also took a trip to Clemson last October.

He’s been to Knoxville and Athens multiple times to visit the Volunteers and Bulldogs, as well.

When it comes to the home-state Bulldogs, Kirby Smart has been loading up on quarterbacks, which could factor into Lawrence’s decision. Smart reeled in the nation’s No. 2 quarterback for 2016 in Jacob Eason and recently flipped the No. 9 quarterback for 2017, Jake Fromm, from Alabama.

As for the other schools, Simmons points out that Lawrence has been a lifelong Tennessee fan – something that doesn’t always carry water, but could influence a player looking to lock things up still relatively early in the recruiting process.
