January 19, 2017Three-star offensive tackle Tony Gray listed out his top five schools via social media on Friday afternoon. The SEC is well represented in his list of institutions.
Three-star offensive tackle Tony Gray announced his top five schools on Friday afternoon. With no specific order, the Loganville, Georgia native listed Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and South Carolina as his favorite programs. Gray also released a statement regarding the whittling of his list.
“I would like to thank all of the great schools that gave me a chance to come & be part of their program. With that said, these are the top 5 schools that I’ve narrowed my choices down to,” he wrote.
At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, Gray is the third-ranked offensive tackle in the state of Georgia and the No. 37 tackle in the nation. Interestingly, home-state UGA did not make the cut for Gray, and the Dawgs’ SEC East rival Florida appears to be the favorite.
Gray could stand to tighten up on his technique and strength. That said, he possesses excellent footwork, a college-ready frame and the ability to quickly fire off the ball on the snap.
