Four-star defensive tackle Tommy Togiai is ecstatic over his Ohio State offer, according to his high school coach.

It’s a big week for one of the country’s biggest prospects in the 2018 recruiting class. Four-star defensive tackle Tommy Togiai, the nation’s No. 136 overall player and No. 11 defensive tackle, picked up an offer from one of the most prestigious programs in college football, Ohio State, on Wednesday.

“Ohio State is definitely in his Top 3 right now,” Gino Mariani, his high school coach, told Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts after Togiai received his offer.

“Tommy was riding around here on cloud 9 after they offered. He will strongly consider Ohio State.”

The Buckeyes now find themselves in the thick of the chase for Togiai, alongside the likes of Michigan, USC and Washington.

Mariani says that the aforementioned teams are Togiai’s top four right now.

Ohio State’s offer comes nearly a month after the Trojans extended their offer on Jan. 24. Togiai attended USC’s junior day last week.

Togiai, listed at 6-foot-4, 300 lbs plays for Highland Senior High School in Pocatello, Idaho, the Southeast corner of the state.

If Meyer is able to work his recruiting magic and lure Togiai all the way east to Ohio, it’ll be the first recruit he’s signed out of Idaho as the Buckeyes head coach.
