Eight months after committing to the Trojans, 4-star recruit Thomas Graham has decommitted from USC.
He announced the news with a tweet on Tuesday.
Graham, the nation’s No. 5 cornerback and No. 44 overall recruit in the 2017 class, originally pledged last summer, one week after receiving the scholarship offer from the Trojans. A lot has changed since then, namely USC’s head coach — Clay Helton now runs the program, whereas eight months ago Steve Sarkisian was in charge.
In January, one month after Sarkisian was fired by USC, Graham classified his status with the Trojans as a soft commitment and re-opened his recruitment. Now, it’s official. He has decommitted.
New head coach Clay Helton can try and sell Graham on the program’s direction, but he’ll have to compete with some Pac-12 rivals. Arizona, Arizona State and UCLA are early frontrunners for Graham, according to Rivals. Notre Dame is also in the mix.
