Texas Longhorns recruiting update as of Dec. 30, 2015. The ‘Horns have their work cut out as January nears.

The Charlie Strong saga is getting a little foggy right now.

Strong has gone 11-14 in two seasons in Austin, Texas. The record really, really doesn’t help, but the premise Strong has based his job on was the need to recruit his own guys. The only problem is it’s beginning to appear that the players Strong needs might not be interested in playing for him.

The Longhorns finished with the No. 10 overall recruiting class in the 2015 cycle, but now they’re sitting at No. 48 in the 2016 recruiting cycle — with just 12 commits going into the new year.

The last recruit to commit to Texas was Davion Curtis, the No. 117 overall wide receiver, who pledged to the Longhorns on Nov. 19.

Strong has a lot of work to do in order to get Texas back up the class rankings. January is going to be very important for the Longhorns to try and close out on some official visits.
