Texas football recruiting update for the week of March 25, 2016.

It was such a quiet week of recruiting for Texas the entire country could hear the crickets chirping down in Austin.

The Longhorns currently sit at No. 13 in the 2017 class rankings. And while they have four commits, let’s take a look at a couple players Charlie Strong is targeting.

Safety Jeffrey Okudah is the biggest fish Strong would love to reel in — especially considering he landed the 2016 class’ No. 1 safety, Brandon Jones.

Okudah has the size to play safety at 6-foot-1, 190 lbs. He plays hard, fast and instinctually. He makes tackles in the open field and can hold his own in man coverage. If he ends up in Austin, Okudah would form a dynamic duo with Jones.

In an ideal world Strong would also tack on Baron Browning, the No. 1 outside linebacker in 2017.

At 6-foot-4, 230 lbs Browning is a man among boys. He attacks ball carriers and has the ability to penetrate the pocket and sack quarterbacks, too.

His versatility is the key, as Browning can set up on the edge and help collapse the pocket. He can also shut down the flats from the outside and plug the A-gaps from inside linebacker.

Below is a breakdown of Texas’ 2017 recruiting class as it currently stands.
