Texas Tech’s Chance To Own The SEC

With one of the nation’s top offenses – actually, the second-best offense, passing offense, and scoring offense – Texas Tech is fun, fun, FUN! However, the defense is bad, bad, BAD! That’s just fine – that’s the recipe for an entertaining bowl game, but these aren’t supposed to be the gimmicky old Red Raiders. With a win over Arkansas earlier in the season, it was a puffy-chested moment for Kliff Kingsbury and his finesse offense bunch against the big, bad bullies. The same goes this time around against LSU. They might not be able to hold up, but they should be able to crank up the attack.

LSU’s First Game Of The Rest Of Its Life

After all the drama and after all the problems, the Tigers have their head coach still in place, they have a killer team returning next season, they have an amazing recruiting class coming in, and they have Leonard Fournette being forced to play more college football than he has to. Now it’s time to set the tone. Bowl games are their own self-contained animals, but in this case, the hype machine could get rolling right away if LSU dominates. After losing three of their last four games, and struggling a bit to get past Texas A&M, this is the time to turn it loose. Now is the time to show what this ultra-talented program is truly capable of.
