The 2016 Texas A&M schedule is a tale of two seasons. The first half is a nightmare of away dates, but the second half eases up, at least in terms of home games.

5 Keys to the Schedule
– The Aggies start out with UCLA in what should be a fun showdown and shootout, and that’s it for even trying to come up with anything interesting in non-conference play. Prairie View? New Mexico State? UTSA? Combined spread on those three games? A&M -120.
– The yearly permanent interdivisional game against South Carolina isn’t that bad, even if it’s on the road, but having to face Tennessee should be a bear. It’s in College Station, but coming before the bye week, it’ll be a fight.
– Alabama and Auburn are road games, and the Arkansas game is in Arlington, but the Ole Miss and LSU showdowns are at home late. The key to the SEC schedule is getting through the first half of the season.
– Following the trip to Alabama, four of the final five games are at home. A&M needs it with a run of four of the first five SEC games away from College Station. The Aggies need the week off before going to Tuscaloosa.
– WATCH OUT FOR … Auburn. It’s the SEC opener on the road, and as crazy as it might sound, it could be a make-or-break moment for the season with dates away from Kyle Field against Arkansas and South Carolina up next. Lose to the Tigers, and there’s little margin for error during a nasty first half of the season.
