Terrance Ferguson dishes to Campus Insiders why Stephen Curry is the best player he ever played against.
March 29, 2016
At the 2016 McDonald’s All American Game, Terrance Ferguson told Campus Insiders why Stephen Curry is the best player he ever played against.
The 2016 McDonald’s All American Games are set to tip off Wednesday at the United Center in Chicago, and there’s a buzz surrounding the future stars of college basketball and the NBA.
One of those highly touted recruits is 5-star small forward Terrance Ferguson, who decommitted from Alabama on March 1, nearly seven months after originally pledging to the Crimson Tide.
Campus Insiders sat down with the nation’s No. 5 small forward and asked who the toughest player he ever played against was, and Ferguson had no choice but to pick the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player: Stephen Curry.
“Probably Steph Curry — tough player. People don’t see him as being that strong, but he’s pretty strong,” Ferguson said with a laugh. “He was making all types of moves, using his body. It was pretty hard staying in front of him. Plus, his shot’s so fast. I’m long, and I still couldn’t block it. How can you stop him? You have to foul him to stop him. It was impossible.”
Ferguson is the No. 13 overall player in the 2016 class, and he’s a week removed from taking an official visit to Arizona.
Sean Miller’s Wildcats were a No. 6 seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, but they were handed a first-round exit by No. 11-seeded Wichita State.
Arizona has the No. 4 class in the nation with three commits — all 5-star recruits. Adding Ferguson would likely catapult them ahead of Michigan State and Duke for the No. 2 class, trailing only Kentucky for the top spot.
