Terrace Marshall recruiting profile features the No. 17 player in the CI 25 for 2018. Marshall has been showing out as a deep threat in the recruiting cycle.
February 14, 2017Recruiting profile featuring Terrace Marshall, the No. 17 prospect in the inaugural CI 25 recruiting rankings.
CI 25 Overall Ranking: No. 17
CI 25 Position Ranking: No. 2
Hometown: Bossier City, Louisiana
School: Parkway High School
Position: WR
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 190 lbs
You can’t put a single man on Terrace Marshall and ask him to cover the No. 2-ranked wide receiver in the CI 25. It’s just not a great idea. Marshall is always open. At 6-foot-4, 190 lbs he can hurt secondaries in more ways than one. He’s a deep threat with his ability to create separation and physically dominate cornerbacks. But he’s more of a complete wide receiver than he might get credit for, as he high points the football and is extremely dangerous after the catch.
Matt Canada is looking to build a new offense in Baton Rouge, and Marshall would fit in nicely there. The Tigers have produced elite wide receivers in the past, and the Bossier City native could be next in line. Oklahoma, TCU Texas A&M come to mind with the way the Sooners, Horned Frogs and Aggies stretch the field vertically. They all like to air it out, and Marshall can go retrieve the football.
“Terrace Marshall Jr. is an elite receiver prospect who combines outstanding frame potential with equally impressive athleticism. Marshall has the size of a big outside receiver and the ability to gain yards after the catch of smaller, more agile receivers. ” – Scout
Status: Uncommitted
Notable Offers: Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA
There was a window of opportunity for other programs to sneak into Marshall’s recruitment when LSU went through its coaching staff changes. However, it doesn’t appear anyone has really capitalized on that. Credit also has to go to Ed Orgeron and the job he’s done keeping the Tigers active on the recruiting trail and active in Marshall’s recruitment.
Texas got a late start with its own coaching change, but it appears the Aggies and Sooners are the only real competitors for LSU. Expect the Tigers to hold on and get Marshall on board.
