    Tennessee vs. Missouri Game Preview

    When: Saturday, November 19 – 3:30 p.m. ET
    Where: Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, TN
    TV Broadcast: CBS

Tennessee kept its stranglehold of Kentucky going with a 49-36 win against the Wildcats on Saturday. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs was back to his old tricks, accounting for 370 yards of total offense and five touchdowns while running back Alvin Kamara added 128 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Missouri snapped its five-game losing streak and won its first SEC game of the season with a 26-17 victory over Vanderbilt. Quarterback Drew Lock had a good game, throwing for 294 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions. Running back Damarea Crockett pitched in, rushing for 154 yards and a touchdown.

    What To Know About Tennessee

It hasn’t been the season Tennessee wanted, but it still has a shot at making it to Atlanta to play for the SEC East championship. Dobbs will have a field day against a Missouri defense that 110th in the nation in total defense, allowing 464.4 yards per game. With Kamara back, he has some help in the backfield.

The Volunteers’ defense has been injury plagued this season, so a lot of new faces are seeing the field. Keeping Lock from settling in in the pocket will be important.

    What to Know About Missouri

The year has been a disaster for the Tigers in Barry Odom’s first season after taking over for Gary Pinkel, but Lock has been a delight, throwing for 2,811 yards and 21 touchdowns. For the Tigers to be successful, though, Crockett must be able to run the ball. Missouri can move the chains, ranking No. 24 in the nation in total offense with 486.7 yards per game.

The Missouri defense is allowing a whopping 225.30 yards on the ground per game, something that will be tested by Dobbs and Kamara. For Missouri to have a chance, the Tigers must contain Dobbs and keep him in the pocket.

    Advantages

Offense: Tennessee. A healthy Kamara makes this offense that much better.

Defense: Tennessee. What happened to the great defenses of Missouri that they put on the field in 2013-14?

Special Teams: Tennessee. Trevor Daniel is 15th in the nation, averaging 44.78 yards per punt.

Coaching: Tennessee. An SEC East title would give Butch Jones some breathing room in Knoxville.

Intangibles: Tennessee. They will know whether or not they still have a chance at the division when they take the field.

    Tennessee vs. Missouri Prediction

Depending on what Florida does in Baton Rouge, the Volunteers could be playing for a chance to put themselves one win away from a SEC East title. Expect Butch Jones to try and keep Tennessee’s attention on what is facing them in front of them, and that is Missouri. In the end, the Volunteers are too talented to lose this game, even with all of the key injuries. Tennessee wins.
