Teez Tabor 40-Yard Dash Time At NFL Combine

Teez Tabor’s 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, as the former Florida star looks to increase his draft stock.

He arrived in Gainesville via Washington D.C. as a highly touted cornerback opposite Vernon Hargreaves III. But before long, Jalen “Teez” Tabor was being widely considered as the best defensive back on Florida’s roster.

With nine interceptions, 28 pass deflections and 104 total tackles in three seasons, the production for Tabor was on par with some of the nation’s best cornerbacks.

However, his draft stock has been peppered by off-the-field issues that started as early as his freshman year with the Gators. And with a deep cornerback class entering the 2017 NFL Draft, including his teammate, Quincy Wilson, Tabor has gone from sure-fire top-10 pick to a mid-to-late-first-round pick.

The 6-foot, 201-pound ballhawk needed to post a respectable time in the 40-yard dash in order to give his draft stock a boost and reassure NFL scouts, coaches and executives that he’s worth a top-15 pick.

And he certainly didn’t blow them away when he clocked in at 4.63 seconds on his first attempt, but it might have gotten the job done. Of course, his second run clocked in at 4.68 seconds and didn’t help.

But, luckily for Tabor, his 40-yard-dash time doesn’t affect his ability to diagnose plays, mirror receivers’ patterns and break on the ball, which will keep him in the conversation as one of the best cornerbacks in the entire draft class.
