    Georgia’s Holding Pattern

Georgia might get Smart – sorry – in the near future – but there’s still stuff to shoot for this year even without head coach Mark Richt around. Bryan McClendon will serve as the interim head coach, and now it’s on him to take Georgia to a ten-win season. It’s been a rocky year, and there weren’t enough key wins – without a true signature moment – but the Bulldogs closed out with four straight wins. They might not have been scintillating, and the offense might not have worked as well as expected, but they’re 9-3. It’s not like the wheels have completely come off, but they’re going into a true exhibition game – they’re going to have to prove they want to close out strong, because all that matters is what’s next.

Penn State Is In a Bowl Game. Enjoy.

It seems so obvious now, but 18 months ago the program was still trying to figure out what was happening next after getting hit hard by the NCAA. This year’s team is on a three-game losing streak, the offense wasn’t nearly as good as it should’ve been, and the defense got pounded over the final few weeks. But the Nittany Lions are going bowling, and considering head coach James Franklin is brilliant at building up the positives, coming away with a win would do wonders going into the offseason. To do that, though, the offense has to show up. If Christian Hackenberg is really a true NFL prospect, this is the game to show it.
