Tate Martell is visiting Ohio State on Thursday. Despite being committed Texas A&M, he calls OSU his "dream school."
March 24, 2016Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes will get a crack at the nation’s No. 1 quarterback for 2017, Tate Martell, on Thursday.
Tate Martell is the nation’s No. 1 quarterback recruit for 2017. He’s been committed to the Texas A&M Aggies since last August; however, that isn’t stopping him from scoping out what other programs have to offer.
Martell, from Las Vegas, touched down in Columbus, on Wednesday and will take an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Thursday.

Martell has family located in Ohio, which is the overlying reason for the trip.
Where things get interesting is his connection to the Buckeyes. Both Martell’s father and his grandfather both went to Ohio State, and will be making the visit with him on Thursday.
He spoke with Eleven Warriors while en route to Columbus, saying “I’m really excited to visit Ohio State because it’s been my dream school for as long as I’ve known.”
“My whole family on my mom’s side loves Ohio State and a lot of them live in Ohio. I’m still excited about and committed to Texas A&M, but Ohio State would have to be my No. 2 right now.”
Knowing Martell shares those kinds of feelings about Ohio State, you better believe Urban Meyer is going to put the full-court press on 2017’s No. 12-overall player. While he’s currently committed to Texas A&M, this one feels far from over, especially when a recruiter of Meyer’s caliber is in the equation.
Ohio State currently has one quarterback committed for 2017, Danny Clark from Akron, Oh. He’s the No. 27-ranked quarterback in the class.
