Tate Martell’s Ohio State Tweet Heightens Potential Flip Talk

Tate Martell's Ohio State tweet will only heighten the talk of him potentially flipping. Although nothing has been said yet, he has called OSU his "dream school."

Judging by a recent tweet, Texas A&M commit Tate Martell might be embracing the idea of flipping to Ohio State.

Tate Martell has been committed to Texas A&M since Aug. 20, and he hasn’t wavered on that commitment … yet.

The 5-star recruit and No. 1 quarterback in the 2017 class took an unofficial visit to Ohio State recently and appeared to enjoy his time. Prior to arriving, he even called OSU his “dream school.”

An unofficial visit going well isn’t typically enough to cause a recruit to flip, but it might be enough for Martell to at least spend one of his five official visits in Columbus, Ohio.

If his Twitter account is any indication, Martell might be warming up to the idea of both. He tweeted out this Buckeyes picture referencing “Zone 6,” the name for Ohio State’s wide receivers, with a cryptic hashtag.

Ohio State has J.T. Barrett returning for the 2016 season, and the Buckeyes also signed 4-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. in the 2016 class. So, it’s not as though the Buckeyes are starved for highly-skilled passers. They also have four-star prospect Danny Clark committed for 2017.

Although, Martell could take a ticket and hop in Urban Meyer’s line of star quarterbacks: Alex Smith, Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Braxton Miller, etc.

As for the Aggies, losing Martell would be less than ideal. Kevin Sumlin recently watched two former 5-star quarterbacks leave the program. Both Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transferred away from Texas A&M this offseason.

Allen ended up at Houston, and Murray landed with the Oklahoma Sooners. They were replaced by Trevor Knight, who transferred to the Aggies from Oklahoma.
