Four-star defensive tackle Tahj Rice unveiled his top five schools on Monday, making sure to include programs from the ACC and Pac-12.

The heat is being turned up on the No. 15-ranked defensive tackle in the country.

On Monday, Tahj Rice, who’s from Louisville, Kentucky, revealed his top five schools. He included programs from the ACC and Pac-12 on his list, including his hometown-team, Louisville.

Along with the Cardinals are Duke, Oregon, USC and Virginia Tech.

Rice is also ranked as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the state and the No. 175 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class. Some of the teams who also gave him an offer but did not make the cut for his top five include Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana and NC State.

Of the teams to make the cut, the last ones to extend an offer to Rice were the Hokies, who did so last Wednesday. Five days earlier, Clay Helton’s Trojans made it known Rice had a scholarship waiting in Los Angeles. And that came two days after the 4-star recruit picked up an offer from Willie Taggart’s Ducks.

The last visit Rice made, though, was to Duke. The trip to Durham came on Nov. 10 when he had an up-close view for the Blue Devils’ 28-27 win over rival North Carolina.

Duke is believed to be the favorite at the moment. The Blue Devils put their scholarship offer on the table on June 5, 2016, while Rice was on campus to participate in a recruiting camp held by the Duke staff.
