The Syracuse Orange have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Resume

    Team: Syracuse Orange

    Record:
    19-13

    Conference:
    ACC

    Head coach:
    Jim Boeheim

    How they got here:
     At-Large Bid

    The Good

When the Orange are rolling, they’re fun to watch. Michael Gbinije can score inside and out, he’s fantastic on the break and he does a great job of grabbing a rebound and triggering the transition game. Malachi Richardson and Trevor Cooney provide more than solid support, and Tyler Lydon and Tyler Robinson are both solid rebounders who can control the paint.

    The Bad

Syracuse looks tired again, and the Orange’s confidence isn’t where it needs to be. Gbinije can play too fast at times and get sloppy. The same goes for Richardson, and if foul trouble comes along, ‘Cuse doesn’t have much to turn to on the bench. Five guys average 30-plus minutes.

    Prediction

The Orange should just be happy to have an NCAA Tournament invite, but it won’t be sticking around for long. This is a team that is running on fumes at this point, and it would be a major achievement for Syracuse to get to the second weekend.
