The No. 8 Stanford Cardinal will meet the Washington State Cougars in Pullman on Saturday night in a matchup of two teams atop the Pac-12 North.

Stanford (6-1, 5-0 Pac-12) is rolling and looking to remain the favorite to claim the Pac-12 title with a sixth straight win. The Cardinal’s latest victim was the Washington Huskies, who they handled easily, winning 31-14 last week. Christian McCaffery put on a show for the fans at Stanford Stadium, posting 300 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns to propel the Cardinal offense.

Washington State (5-2, 3-1 Pac-12) has been one of the big surprises in the conference thus far and it appears the Mike Leach experiment is rounding into shape. The Cougars are winners of three straight games, including last week’s survival over Arizona. Luke Falk threw for 514 yards (most for any Arizona opponent) and accounted for six total touchdowns, giving the Cougars just enough to get by the Wildcats, 45-42. Gabe Marks led the Washington State receiving corps, hauling in four of Falk’s five touchdown passes.

Stanford and Washington State will meet for the 66th time on Saturday, with the Cardinal holding a 39-25-1 edge all-time. Stanford has won seven straight in the series, dating back to 2007.

Below is everything you need to know about the matchup, including the Stanford vs. Washington State online live stream options, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.

    Prediction

The way Falk is playing, the Cougars can beat a lot of teams, particularly in their own building. The Cardinal, however, are humming at an even higher level, getting it done on both sides of the ball. And its superior defense and ability to pummel an opponent for 15 rounds will wear the Cougars down in the second half. Falk will get his numbers, but McCaffrey will once again be the MVP of a Stanford win.
