SEC West tie-breakers and scenarios for the 2015 championship game. Here's how each team still in contention could make it to Atlanta.
November 16, 2015The East was tucked into bed a while ago, and Alabama can end the fun with a win over Auburn.
And what happens if Auburn pulls off the Iron Bowl shocker and beats the Crimson Tide?
Can LSU make it happen? The Tigers can find a way to tie for the SEC West title by winning out and getting Ole Miss and Alabama losses, but they can’t get through the tie-breaking scenario to get to the championship game.
Ole Miss is still alive, even after the shocking loss to Arkansas a few weeks ago. It has to come up with wins over LSU and Mississippi State, and, again, Alabama has to lose to Auburn. If Ole Miss loses to LSU, then it’s all set in stone
Of course, the SEC wants an 11-1 Alabama vs. an 11-1 Florida for the SEC championship to be assured of a spot in the College Football Playoff, but that doesn’t happen if the Gators lose to Florida State and go on to take the SEC title. It also isn’t going to work out – or, at least, it’ll be really tough – if Alabama loses to Auburn and still goes on to win the championship.
– Florida won the SEC East.
– Alabama wins with a win at Auburn. Or, with one loss from Ole Miss.
– Ole Miss wins with wins over LSU and at Mississippi State AND with an Alabama loss.
