Taking a look at the SEC’s easiest and hardest schedules in 2017 based on opponents’ winning percentage from 2016.
The road to the SEC Championship Game and a possible spot in the College Football Playoff is rocky, with a lot of obstacles along the way that are waiting to trip you up. That is life in the SEC, the nation’s deepest and most talented conference.
Since the playoff format has been in play, more conference teams are also scheduling big games with non-conference opponents. In 2017, we will see Alabama taking on Florida State in Atlanta, Florida opening up against Michigan in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Auburn visiting defending national champion Clemson in Death Valley.
The conference schedule will be torturous as well, especially in the West where Alabama, LSU, and Auburn all have its eyes on the national title. The East is no slouch either, as Florida tries to hold off a veteran Georgia team and dark horse Kentucky to make it back to Atlanta.
