It was expected, but college football’s most prestigious conference flexed its muscle on the recruiting trail once again. National Signing Day for the 2017 recruiting class wrapped up with the SEC claiming nine spots in the top 25 and five spots within the top 10.
Florida dipped to outside of the top 30 when it lost a commitment from 4-star cornerback Elijah Blades about a week ago, but the Gators stacked up commitment after commitment on Wednesday and fought tooth and nail to land at No. 10 in the final 2017 recruiting class rankings.
As for rival Georgia, the Bulldogs jostled for the No. 1 ranking with Alabama throughout the cycle, but Kirby Smart failed out do his old boss. Nick Saban and Alabama secured yet another No. 1 recruiting class.
