    October 21, 2015

We are officially at the halfway point of the SEC football season, meaning it’s time to get bold with midseason predictions and bowl projections.

    SEC Finish Will Be …

    SEC Championship: Alabama over Florida

    EAST

    1. Florida 11-1 (8-0)
    2. Georgia 9-3 (5-3)
    3. Tennessee 8-4 (5-3)
    4. Kentucky 6-6 (3-5)
    5. Missouri 6-6 (2-6)
    6. South Carolina 4-8 (1-7)
    7. Vanderbilt 2-10 (0-8)

    WEST

    1. Alabama 11-1 (7-1)
    2. LSU 10-2 (6-2)
    3. Ole Miss 9-3 (6-2)
    4. Texas A&M 9-3 (5-3)
    5. Mississippi State 8-4 (4-4)
    6. Arkansas 6-6 (4-4)
    7. Auburn 5-7 (1-7)

    Top Five Midseason Players: Offense

    1. RB Leonard Fournette, Soph. LSU
    2. QB Dak Prescott, Sr. Mississippi State
    3. RB Derrick Henry, Jr. Alabama
    4. RB Nick Chubb, Soph. Georgia
    5. WR/KR Christian Kirk, Fr. Texas A&M

    Top Five Midseason Players: Defense

    1. LB Reggie Ragland, Sr. Alabama
    2. DE Myles Garrett, Soph. Texas A&M
    3. CB Vernon Hargreaves III, Jr. Florida
    4. DE Charles Harris, Soph. Missouri
    5. DT A’Shawn Robinson, Jr. Alabama

    Five Best Remaining Games

    1. LSU at Alabama, Nov. 7
    2. Florida vs. Georgia, Oct. 31
    3. LSU at Ole Miss, Nov. 21
    4. Arkansas at LSU, Nov. 14
    5. Alabama at Mississippi State, Nov. 14

    Five Bold Calls

    1. Alabama will owe Mississippi State big time. Ole Miss will run through the rest of the SEC schedule – including a thriller against LSU at home – but the West title will all come down to the Egg Bowl. Dak Prescott will cement his legacy with a win.

    2. The Welcome To The SEC Defense day is coming for Leonard Fournette. Whether it’s at Alabama, or maybe against Arkansas, or possibly at Ole Miss, at some point, the 21-carry, 45-yard day is going to happen. But if he blows up at Alabama, the Heisman race is all over.

    3. Missouri is going to have to scratch and claw its way to a bowl game. The two-time defending SEC East champs can’t get the offense going, and it’s going to have problems despite a not-that-awful November.

    4. Auburn won’t go bowling unless it beats Ole Miss or Georgia at home, or Arkansas on the road. Idaho will be the fifth win, but it’ll be a nightmare of a time getting No. 6.

    5. Tennessee will lose to Alabama, and then run through the final five games without breathing hard, just in time to once again be the hot team going into another offseason. South Carolina will try hard, but won’t win another game other than against Citadel, and Vanderbilt will be more competitive, but won’t win again the rest of the way.
