We have some Pioneer League football action this weekend with the San Diego Toreros (1-1) hosting the Dayton Flyers (2-1). Dayton comes into this one trying to bounce back after a 34-20 loss to Duquesne. As for San Diego, it’s coming off a 38-16 loss to Cal Poly.

Saturday’s meeting will be the 24th time San Diego and Dayton have gone up against one another. The Flyers lead the all-time series, 16-7, and they took last year’s matchup, 13-12. Dayton has won seven of the 12 games the two teams have played at Torero Stadium.

• San Diego’s seven-game winning streak was snapped when the Toreros fell to Cal Poly in Week 2, 38-16.
• Dale Lindsey’s team is 27-9 when playing at home since 2013.
• Sophomore quarterback Anthony Lawrence is getting his 13th consecutive start. He’s completed 64 percent of his passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns so far.

• Dayton provides a heavier run attack than it does in the air with 119 rushing attempts to 80 passing attempts thus far.
• The Flyers have out-gained opponents in total offense this season 928 yards to 905 yards allowed.
• Through three games, quarterback Alex Jeske has already tallied 587 passing yards, but he’s only thrown two touchdowns to three interceptions.
• Dayton has fumbled six times and lost three of those loose balls while it has forced four fumbles and recovered two of those.
