Sam Bruce reaffirmed his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes just over a week before National Signing Day.

Well, Miami, Monday could have gone much, much worse. Instead, you can take a breath and let go a sigh of relief. Four-star Sam Bruce is staying close to home.

    Put it in ink.

Only a week after he flipped 4-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins and 4-star linebacker Keandre Jones from Maryland, Urban Meyer tried to do it again by flipping Bruce from the Hurricanes. South Carolina was also hot on the speedy wide receiver’s trail due to his relationship with defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.

Bruce, the nation’s No. 11 wide receiver, has been committed to the Hurricanes since July 8, 2014. It appears he’s a man of his word. Bruce chose the “Sunshine State” over the cold winters in Columbus, Ohio and the fiery persona of Will Muschamp.

Miami has the No. 19 overall recruiting class right now, according to the 247Sports Composite team rankings. And the Hurricanes have to be hyped for the future Bruce has with 4-star quarterback Jack Allison and fellow 4-star wide receiver Dionte Mullins. Both have been committed to Miami since 2014.

Let it be known: The Hurricanes will be slingin’ the football in the near future. And the image of Bruce “throwing up the U” in an end zone isn’t far away.
