Non-Conference Games at Washington, Howard, New Mexico
Games vs. the West Iowa, Illinois, at Minnesota
5 Keys to the Schedule
– Welcome to the new job, Chris Ash. Now start everything out going to Washington. Following up with a date against Howard helps, but the non-conference finale against New Mexico isn’t going to be easy.
– Welcome to the new job, Chris Ash, Part 2. The Scarlet Knights kick off the Big Ten season with Iowa, at Ohio State, and Michigan. At least they get those out of the way early on.
– At least the game against Iowa is at home. Missing Wisconsin and Nebraska helps – facing Illinois and Minnesota from the East is a break.
– There isn’t a bad run road games – there aren’t three road games in four weeks like other Big Ten teams have to deal with. On the flip side, there’s a midseason stretch of three home games in four dates with a week off to rest up on the middle of it all.
– WATCH OUT FOR … Indiana. Rutgers has to win the home games that are winnable, like Illinois and Indiana. Coming off a bye week, the Scarlet Knight have to roll over the Hoosiers with a road trip to Michigan State up next followed up by a home game with Penn State.
