Ross Blacklock Commits To TCU At U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Ross Blacklock commits to TCU at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.

    January 9, 2016

Ross Blacklock announced his decision to play for the TCU Horned Frogs.

Four-star prospect Ross Blacklock has decided where he’ll spend the next several years playing college football. In front of a nationally televised audience on Saturday, the No. 28 defensive tackle and No. 271 overall recruit committed to TCU at the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.

Picking up a 4-star recruit like Blacklock is a quality addition for TCU.

He has experience playing defensive end, but at 314 pounds, Blacklock projects as a 4-3 defensive tackle. His first step is lightning quick as he fires off the ball, which will prove beneficial in stuffing the run. Blacklock lives in the backfield. He keeps solid distance between himself and the offensive lineman and keeps his vision on the ball carrier to disengage and make the play.

Gary Patterson has to be excited about the chance to get Blacklock some reps on the defensive line. He picked TCU over Texas A&M and Houston.

The Horned Frogs now have 19 commits in the class of 2016.
