Alabama offensive guard Richie Petitbon suffered a knee injury over the weekend and has undergone surgery.
April 5, 2016Richie Petitbon, who is entering his second season with the Crimson Tide, suffered a knee injury during spring practice.
The Alabama offensive line suffered a blow over the weekend. Guard Richie Petitbon sustained a severe knee injury and has since undergone surgery.
According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Petitbon tore his ACL during last Saturday’s scrimmage.
Petitbon was one of the top prospects in Alabama’s 2015 recruiting class. After redshirting this past season, his first in Tuscalooa, he was competing for a starting job in 2016.
“He has undergone successful surgery with Dr. Lyle Cain in Birmingham and we anticipate a full recovery,” Saban stated of Petitbon’s injury.
While Alabama still needs to settle on its starters at guard, the good news for the Crimson Tide is that there is depth on the offensive line and pieces that can be shuffled around.
