Non-Conference Games: at Army, Baylor, Prairie View A&M, at Stanford
Games vs. the East: at WKU, Florida Atlantic, at Charlotte
– Can the Owls stay alive in non-conference games against Baylor and Stanford? The date with the Cardinal ends the regular season – going to Palo Alto isn’t a bad way to go if Rice isn’t bowl eligible.
– Three of the first five games are on the road. Making matters worse is the road date at WKU to start out the season, and the Conference USA slate. Fortunately, the other two games against the West aren’t that bad going to Charlotte and facing Florida Atlantic.
– The Owls doing get two home games in a row after facing Baylor and North Texas in early September.
– The key games against the West against Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss are on the road. Rice has no shot of playing for the C-USA title without at least getting a split.
– WATCH OUT FOR … the road game at Charlotte. Rice can go bowling by winning out the Conference USA homes games – they’re all winnable. But it has to win at Army – or come up with a road upset – and can’t blow the putt against Charlotte.
